CVC Words

A CVC word is a word containing a consonant, then a vowel, then a final consonant. 

Quite often, CVC words belong to a 'word family' - they have a lot of words that rhyme along with them.  All you need to do is change the first consonant.  Here are some examples of some CVC words and the families that they belong to:

-ed Word Family

red
bed
led
fed
 

-at Word Family

cat
hat
mat
sat

-ot Word Family

hot
pot
cot
lot

tin
